What is a calibration weight and why would I need it?

Calibration weights are used in the process of calibration. Calibrating your digital scale is important because it prepares it to give accurate and precise measurements. Scales that are not properly calibrated can be unreliable and will not give accurate measurements. The process of calibration is an essential part of upkeep for your digital scale.

How do I calibrate my scale?

To calibrate your digital scale place your standard calibration weight on the weighing platform allowing the scale to measure the weight and adjust itself to take an accurate reading. Because the weight of the standard calibration weight is known, the scale will know precisely how much it deviates from its reading and can adjust itself accordingly. Experimenting with different weights may be useful as some scales are less accurate with lighter weights.
